5 Movies Coming to Streaming in July 2026

This month the platforms are adding serious releases. Here are the 5 movies making their streaming debut on Netflix and HBO Max in July 2026.

July is often the month when streaming platforms take it easy. Not this year. Netflix and HBO Max are bringing serious releases, and there is plenty to fill several evenings. Here are the 5 movies making their debut on their platforms this month.

Enola Holmes 3 on Netflix (from July 1)

Millie Bobby Brown returns as Sherlock's little sister, this time in a case that takes her all the way to Malta. The Enola Holmes franchise works because it does something rare in Doyle adaptations: making Sherlock far less interesting than someone else. If you have seen the first two, you do not need convincing. And if you have not, you have a long weekend to catch up before July 1.

Everything Everywhere All at Once on HBO Max (from July 5)

This film makes its HBO Max debut in France. If you have been putting this off for two years, now is the time. Multiverses, a laundromat, Michelle Yeoh carrying it all with absolute precision. Best Picture at the 2023 Oscars, and frankly well deserved. You have a great time and you are left stunned afterward. Rarely both at once.

Bullet Train on HBO Max (from July 10)

Brad Pitt on a shinkansen with a suitcase to retrieve and about a dozen assassins trying to stop him. An action film from David Leitch, who also gave us Atomic Blonde and John Wick. It is not arthouse cinema and nobody claimed it was. It is fast-paced, funny at times, and goes down easy. Perfect for a summer night when you do not feel like thinking.

Barbie on Netflix (from July 19)

Greta Gerwig's film makes its Netflix debut. Yes, it is Barbie. Yes, everything was pink. And yes, you probably already have an opinion about it. For those who have not seen it yet: it is smarter than the neon-pink trailer suggested, and Ryan Gosling is clearly the comedic discovery of the year. For those who already have: "I'm just Ken" is still stuck in your head.

The Creator on HBO Max (from July 27)

Gareth Edwards, the director of Rogue One, returns with a sci-fi film about the war between humans and artificial intelligence. Shot with lightweight cameras in real locations across Thailand and Cambodia, giving it a texture very different from the usual productions. It is ambitious, visually striking, and takes its ideas seriously. Not perfect, but clearly above average for the genre.
